Global Expansion

In 2023, Happy Gems expanded globally by opening an office in New York, marking its entry into the U.S. market. Parshotambhai's son was tasked with managing the office, and quickly began selling diamonds across various U.S. cities and states.

The brand also exhibited as "APG Gems" at trade shows, showcasing their premium jewelry. Through its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, Happy Gems became one of the most trusted jewelry brands in the U.S., offering real diamond jewelry nationwide.

Today, Happy Gems continues to grow and solidify its reputation as a leading name in luxury diamond jewelry in the American market.

International Reach

The company exports diamonds and jewelry not only to Mumbai but also to countries across America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. This success is a testament to what three partners from the small village of Khopala in Saurashtra have achieved.

Despite having limited formal education, they excelled in business, and today, they are highly successful entrepreneurs, making significant strides in both social and commercial sectors.

Currently, the company is making full use of AI, setting an exemplary model of adaptation and transformation in line with changing times.

Jewelry Venture

In 2018, Happy Gems ventured into the jewelry business alongside its diamond manufacturing operations, starting with just two employees and a small-scale setup. Initially, the company focused on fulfilling orders from friends and family, building a foundation based on trust and quality.

As word spread, Happy Gems quickly expanded its reach, transitioning to a B2C model and catering to high-end consumers. Today, Happy Gems continues to thrive in the jewelry industry, balancing its roots in diamond manufacturing with a strong, flourishing jewelry business that appeals to a global clientele.

Regional Expansion

As the unit in Bhavnagar also faced space constraints, the company decided to build a larger facility there as well. With this expansion, the company gradually picked up pace, and with the noble intention of providing livelihood to many people in Saurashtra, several other manufacturing units were established.

In 2010, a unit was set up in Botad, followed by another in Keshod (Junagadh) in 2011, and in Mahuva and Savarkundla in 2012. Over time, the company established 20 to 25 more diamond manufacturing units in different locations.

As a result, the company has provided employment to over 1,000 people, contributing significantly to the local economy and offering a steady source of income to many families.

New Manufacturing Unit

Over time, the office in Mahidharpura began to feel cramped, so it was decided to set up a manufacturing unit in Surat as well. The search for a suitable location began, and a site at Ved Road, Pandol Industrial Estate was chosen.

In 2006, the first brick of the current company building was laid, marking the beginning of a new phase in the company's growth trajectory.

Global Sourcing

This was a golden time for the diamond industry, offering a vast and excellent platform for opportunity and entrepreneurship. Bhupatbhai possessed a unique natural courage and adventurous spirit. With his innovative and creative thinking, he decided to explore the global market for rough diamonds and buy rough diamonds in 1999.

He became the first to visit Antwerp, Europe, to study the market. This marked the beginning of a new journey for the company. Later, Parasotambhai, with his extensive experience in rough diamonds, started visiting Antwerp from 2000 to purchase rough diamonds.

As the business grew, there was a need for a large manufacturing unit in Surat to support the expanding operations.

Happy Gems Founded

After the rough diamonds were ready, Surat proved too small a market for selling them. The next big step was Mumbai, which offered a larger market for polished diamonds and served as a hub for both buying rough diamonds and exporting polished ones internationally.

Realizing the need for a more organized approach, three partners—Parasotambahi, Babubhai, and Bhupatbhai—established a company called "HAPPY GEMS." They opened an office at Opera House, Panch Ratna in Mumbai for the sale of polished diamonds.

Babubhai, with his expertise in polished diamonds, took charge and moved from Bhavnagar to Mumbai. Meanwhile, Parasotambhai bought an office in Kohinoor Building in Mahidharpura, Surat, a prime location for diamond trade. Starting with just six employees, they bought rough diamonds locally, had them processed in Bhavnagar, and gradually began selling polished diamonds in the Mumbai market.

Small Beginnings

First, the urn of choice was cast on Khopala and then Lakhanka villages of Gadhada taluka. Due to the sufficient availability of skilled artisans in diamonds for diamond manufacturing units in Khopala and Lakhanka villages, small diamond manufacturing units were established by Babubhai and Bhupatbhai by renting a small space.

With great ambition and hard work in life, the small beginning gradually started to grow big. The mind was constantly restless because Khopala and Lakhanka villages had become a limited area, but we had a dream and ambition that we wanted to do something more for the birds of the vast sky.

In that moment, an idea came to us, which was in the year 1990.

The Journey Begins

Parasotambahi (Dasbhai) who had good knowledge of rough diamond and with the aim of gaining more expertise in that field and expanding his business, Parasotambahi moved to Surat in the year 1977. Surat is famous as the idol of gold and the city of diamonds.

Parasotambahi worked day and night to make it worthwhile. He gained complete knowledge about rough diamond testing. Gradually, he decided to bring diamonds from outside and prepare them on labor.

In 1983, he rented a floor of the famous Sip soda factory opposite the bus stand in Kachkiwad and started a factory. Gradually, luck and hard work helped him and he started buying rough diamonds at the local level.
